Six months later...

Well it has been six months since I first noticed this condo and started this blog. It was empty then and as of today, no one seems to be living there.
Even the homeless guy is gone (but it is cold out there..hope he found a warm place). There are garbage cans but no people.
I checked the website for the realtor and I can't find any listing for it nor any "open house" activity.
Just emply windows...if anyone knows any different let me know.

If that link doesn't work, just do a search for "415 36th Street open house".

I think they have an open house every Sunday, though they don't advertise it very well.

Do you think half of these apartments are really "in contract"?

Some of them say In Contract and others say Contract Out but I don't know what any of that means.
I see no lights on at night so I assume that means the place is vacant.

In Contract means that the buyer still can get out of it if his inspector finds something out of whack or something. But basically, it means "sold".

By the way, the Sunset Park area is a Scandinavian neighborhood of blonde-haired Caucasians originally. I don't think the area has been designated as a "hispanic only" neighborhood where whites and asians have to use separate water fountains or anything, so maybe you should just grow up and stop being such a racist?

Some of the white people never left near the actual Park area. Asians have been flooding in for decades and pushing the hispanics toward the industrial side. Life goes on, and as a Puerto Rican who lived in the neighborhood in the 1990s (when you did NOT I might point out) some more upper-middle class white people and a little more diversity in the retail stores on 5th can only be a good thing for the safety and future of the 'hood.

If you want a Latin hood that will be poor forever and never appeal to middle-class white people, I recommend you move to Spanish Harlem. You'd fit right in.

I don't understand what your point is. My point is that working people should have a decent safe place to live. BTW, the most recent research reveals that the original inhabitants of the earth were African.
Why does Latin= poor to you? FYI I was Puerto Rican in the 90s, when you were living in Sunset Park and I was not (Whoaaa!), and I did not then nor do I now drink colt 45 from a straw nor wear earrings bigger than bracelets. (Well, the earrings part is not always true).
East Harlem is experiencing the same gentrification issues Sunset Park is currently experiencing, only worse. So I don't think I'd be happier there.
Since I am one year from retirement I think I am grown, and as far as being racist, doubt it seriously.

I stopped by an open house and was surprised that most condos are already sold.
